Partnering with a CDRE® Matters

Most family law cases involve real estate.

Selling a home in divorce is NOT your typical real estate transaction

and should not be treated that way.

While any licensed agent can sell a home, a Certified Divorce Real Estate Expert® (CDRE®) brings a higher level of skill, training, and neutrality to the case. CDREs are specially trained to handle the legal, financial, and emotional complexities that come with real property in divorce. We understand the delicate nature of high-conflict situations and know how to keep the transaction on track while protecting all parties involved.

Tara Tatum, a Charleston-based Realtor® with over 25 years of experience, is one of only three CDREs in South Carolina—and the only Divorce Real Estate Expert affiliate member of the Charleston Cooperative Family Law Association (CCFLA).  Her background includes extensive training in divorce psychology, conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation, and real estate and family law. She serves as a neutral third party, working in alignment with family law professionals to minimize conflict, maintain momentum, and help your clients make informed, equitable decisions about the marital home.

Tara doesn’t just list and sell property—she becomes part of your professional team, offering court-savvy communication, timely documentation, and deep local market expertise. Working with a CDRE® means fewer delays, fewer disputes, and greater peace of mind for you and your clients.
